BLUE SKIES...SMILIN' AT ME
I woke up yesterday to blue skies!!! I knew right away this was a day to get outside. I simply cannot waste a sunny sky by staying indoors! I needed the break anyway. I dive too deep when I work with my early writings. They trigger anxiety, bad dreams, and just general yucky feelings so I have to take a break on occasion. What a glorious day to do it, too. These sunny days are gifts…rare gifts in a West Virginia January.
I had my eyes tested yesterday. I had a melanoma insitu on my arm 12 years ago and my dermatologist says it’s important to keep up with eye, dental, and…believe it or not, gynecological appointments as melanoma can be found on the retina, in the mouth, and in the…ummmm…netheryaya (to quote Amy Farrah Fowler, PhD). So, get checked…especially if you are fair skinned, had at least one severe sunburn that blistered, or a history of melanoma. Early detection is of the utmost importance.
I took myself out for a fun afternoon of browsing my favorite stores and then I met a friend for dinner. I drove home late. I hit a possum driving home. I’m glad it wasn’t a deer. Here’s another little tidbit of information. Possums have nasty, gnarly teeth and they can actually puncture a tire if you run over them. So, there are my PSA’s for the day…get your skin checked and don’t run over possums.
Gosh…I live an exciting life, don’t I? (Note to self: get out more!) ❤️
