I Have an Assignment

We’re leaving in a few days for my Uncle Bud’s 90th Birthday Party. We can’t wait! My uncle asked me to bring the photos that belonged to Grandma. Mom took them home for safekeeping.

Now, Grandma passed away in 1999 which means Mom brought the photos home around 1997-98. Mom passed in 2004. Since that time, I’ve been married two times, widowed once, and downsized over 95% of my personal belongings, and moved twice. Mix that with a brain that’s nearly 30 years older and that could be a recipe for disaster…or disappointment at the very least.

Mr. FixIt went to the bowling alley last night so it was a good time to rummage around for those pictures. Eureka…I went right to them! They’re all jumbled up so I’m going to have to do some sorting this week. The only thing I haven’t found yet is the family Bible. Honestly, I don’t recollect having it. I do remember seeing it at Grandma’s at some point so I hope I have it.

Mom was the keeper of the memories. I’m going to have to make copies of these photos because once I send them on, I’ll never see them again.

Other than that, I didn’t get a lot done. I mowed a spot in the front yard that I missed on Saturday. I stretched out for my Sunday afternoon nap. I fed my starter so I can try sourdough one more time. I am a glutton for punishment, as my Mom used to say.

Mr. FixIt got the starter off of my truck. (Ha! We both worked on starters!) We’ll take it into town today and have the auto parts store put it on their computer to find out if that’s the problem or not. My husband blows my mind. He can do ANYTHING! I haven’t had a husband that could fix things…we just hired it out. Think of the money we could have saved! Yes, indeed…he didn’t get the name Mr. FixIt for nothing.
