A Quick Story

I may have told you this one before but humor me if I have.

When my uncle received his pilot wings, Grandma and PopPop went with an entourage to attend the ceremony. Along with my aunt, my great grandfather and his love interest…they all enjoyed a cross country automobile excursion. That was the first time they had been west of the Mississippi. It was a big deal!

The first night, they stopped at a motel to get some sleep. As they were checking in, my great grandpa asked for one room. My grandma hoisted herself up and glared at him.

“You are NOT going to share a hotel room unless you’re married!”

Well, the story goes that Grandpa took Pearl down to the Justice of the Peace and married her! My grandma was satisfied and the trip went off WITH a hitch! Hence the only great-grandma I ever knew came into my world. I adored her!

Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Today is my brother’s birthday so there is much to celebrate!
