Autumn

God must delight in the change of seasons. Look at this…unbelievably beautiful! I’ll bet he lines the angels up and says “Watch this!” Then He waves His arm across the land spreading red and gold and yellow across the world and they all applaud when we stop and take notice.

TOW-Wanda had a “Doctor” appointment at the RV hospital in Columbus yesterday. Her water heater stopped working in Myrtle Beach. I went ahead and had her winterized while I was there. I’ve been taking things out of the cabinets. Some stuff is getting pitched. Some comes in the house with me. I’m not sure how I’m going to handle sleeping in the house. I’ll try it but I’ve got mixed feelings. If money was no object, I would head South. But then I would miss all the really cool opportunities for hanging with my WV friends and going to hear live music.

Honestly, the idea of voluntarily going without running water for the next five months, waking up with ice on the inside of the windows, and having to dispose of “potty bags” every week is seriously unappealing. I did it. I proved to myself how strong and capable I am. I’ll just really miss my girl. I’ll set her up as my “she shed”…a place I can go out to and pretend camp and take naps. That’ll be good.

“Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.”

Psalm 39:4-5
