I love my birthdays! Mr. Virgo always made it a special day for me so I like to carry on that tradition. It’s the least thing I can do, right? ?
I got a late start out of Bristol yesterday. Just after I left I-81 and got on I-40 west, I get one of my God messages.
“Check the air in your tires.”
“Nah…they checked it recently when I got the new ties on the camper.”
“Check the air in you tires.”
“Seriously, it hasn’t been that long ago. I looked at them. They looked fine. The pressure light isn’t on. They’re fine. Really. Trust me.”
“Check the air in your tires!”
“Awwww, c’mon! I’m running late!!!”
“CHECK THE AIR IN YOUR TIRES…NOW!!!”
“Fine! Fine! I’ll check the air in my tires!!!”
There was a rest area one mile ahead so I pulled in. I got out my tire gauge and checked the air. Front, left…35psi. Front, right…35psi. Rear, right…35psi. Rear, left…>100psi! What?!?! That couldn’t be possible. The tire would blow if it was that high. I tested them again. Same thing. I let them cool off a bit, tested them again, and STILL got greater than 100psi. I googled Walmart Tire Center and found one less than ten miles away. I went in and asked if they could check my tire pressure.
35…35…35…….35!!!! Crazy! I asked the guy if he was sure. He said yes and showed me. Then he said, “Whoa…wait a second. What’s this?” He shined a light on the tire and there was a two inch split right between the tread. It was on a part of the tire I couldn’t see when I initially checked my air pressure. I never would have known if that one tire hadn’t given such a weird reading.
God looks out for us in all things. He can direct our feet to save us from calamity. I am so blessed I listened yesterday and I checked my tires! I get to have another birthday today!!!
