Last winter I thought I was done here in West Virginia. I missed my children and my grandchildren. I was bored, overweight, and more than a little frustrated with my life. I wanted time to go faster because I thought the farther I got from the day Mr. Virgo died, the better I’d be. At the same time, I didn’t want to wish my life away. I was at a crossroads when my life exploded and things started to get interesting. I started getting messages from my soul.

The soul has its own language…its own voice. You hear it through your heart, not your head. You feel it. When I was asked to submit the proposal to speak at the Positive Aging Conference, I reached a fork in the road. I could keep doing what I was doing…eating my emotions and living a sedentary lifestyle. Or, I could change my nutritional intake, start moving, and grow. I wasn’t sure how I was going to accomplish it. I had to get still and listen to my soul.

March saw me making these great changes and the weather in WV is SO much better than Colorado at that time of year. My soul said, “Stay…your work is not done here.” So, I stayed. I trusted. The Holy Spirit speaks through my soul and into my life and guides me. I knew better than to second guess. A door closed. Another opened. And now…now I’m living this peaceful, serene life. It is idyllic. It is quiet. I have the love and support of my family and friends. And something nebulous is growing. It is outside of my grasp right now…like trying to see through a foggy glass. But it will be mine when the time is right.

• Eat.
• Rest.
• Write.
• Listen.
• Stretch.
• Trust.

What is out of reach will be revealed.
