It isn’t normal to have temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s this early in the year in West Virginia, but when they go back to normal…we whine. Well, I whine, anyway. We are now back to much more seasonable temperatures here and with the rain, it feels a bit more like fall than spring.
We are preparing for our beach vacation to our timeshare on the Outer Banks. And, like any good Girl Scout, I’ve been watching the weather predictions for North Carolina. Every time we’ve been there together, there has been maybe one or two days out of the week that are a little cool with a little rain. This time, the highest temperature predicted is 68 on Friday. *sigh*
When you’re planning a trip and you are unsure of the weather, you inevitably end up taking a lot more clothes than you expect to take. We have laundry facilities in our condo, so we really don’t have to take much, but I always end up with enough for a six month stay. I am absolutely determined to pare down the amount of stuff we tote with us.
Food will be easier to deal with this time because we feel more comfortable going to the grocery store. Being fully vaccinated and wearing double masks and gloves, we should be perfectly safe shopping for food down there. Everything we take down has to be hauled up to the second floor, so it will behoove us to pack lightly.
In preparation, we ran the snake down the drain at the bottom of the back stairs and it went right through. I think if we do that every other month or so and keep it cleared out, we shouldn’t have any more trouble with it backing up. I was really happy about that. It means a bit more freedom for us to get out of Dodge more often.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe it’s the middle of April already! I was hoping to have my camper down to the dealership to get repaired long before this, but it just hasn’t worked out. I’m really, REALLY ready to go camping! As soon as we get back and the weather is good, that’s the next thing on the list. I do have a camping trip planned for next month and I can’t wait!!!
Things have gotten pretty much back to normal here since Mr. FixIt’s strokes last year…thank God! I count my blessings that it wasn’t any worse for him and his stamina is nearly back to where he was before. He can’t climb ladders anymore, and he has a little trouble with his fine motor skills in his hands…especially the left. But, if that’s the worst thing, we can handle it!
God is so good to us!
