Oh, I love a good surprise! Some of the local Girl Campers gathered to surprise our fearless leader, Head Girl Camper Janine Pettit yesterday. She and fellow Girl Camper Mari pulled into the campground to find half our crew sitting around the picnic table. The other half arrive tomorrow. Janine was so excited…she jumped out of her truck and squealed and did the happy dance right there. She called me to catch up Wednesday and I never let on I’d be waiting for her yesterday when she pulled in. I told her I was leaving for Colorado instead. What a fun surprise!
Camping in the rain. It’s sloppy and chilly and such a respite from the intense heat and humidity we’ve had this past week. I really don’t mind it. I didn’t unhook the camper as I am more than likely heading west this morning…depending on the weather. If it looks like severe storms in the Midwest, I may stay here one more day. I love sleeping to the sound of rain on a camper roof! I hardly slept Wednesday night in anticipation of leaving.
Mr. FixIt is heading to Florida today. While we miss each other when we’re apart, I love how supportive he is of my writing and travel. I explained when we first started dating that he would have to share me with the world. I told him about my travels and speaking engagements. He did two things. First, he told me if I ever need someone to carry my bags, he’s my man. And second…he went out and got an iPhone so we can FaceTime while we’re apart. I like seeing him every day. Ahhh…new love. It is a beautiful thing!
I’ll keep you apprised of my travels as I move along. Oh, I love a road trip! ❤️
“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”

Bon Voyage! I so enjoy reading your writings. I’m envious of your trip. I’ve been looking at RV’s and travel trailers for a few years now, but somehow can’t drum up the courage to jump in. What length is your travel trailer if you don’t mind me asking?
Aloha.
Barbara
Barbara, my first camper was 16’…a really nice size. My big camper that I have with me is 30′ long so with the truck I’m a total for 42′! That’s pretty big! My little vintage camper that I just got is 17.5′. It will be a while before I can pull her! ❤️
Happy trails to you! May they be safe and blessed with new adventures!
❤️
Have a great and safe trip❤️
❤️
Have a great time! I have been camping in the rain in Bedford,Pa. I need to figure the rain thing out, I’m a desert rat, not used to camping in the rain… But, I’ll get the hang of things?Next up, Big Bear… West Virginia ?
Now you’re getting into my neck of the woods! The rain is supposed to clear out tomorrow. ❤️
Be blessed!
Enjoy God’s world?

Safe travels! Thanks for sharing them with us through the blogosphere. And Mr. FixIt sounds like a most excellent man. If I traveled, my husband would be all, iPhone? FaceTime? What? LOL (He says he has a dumb phone and he likes it that way – I’m the tech geek in the family.)
God Bless you, Mr. Fixit and your travels. May you be safe and love every moment of your adventure.
Ginny, your trip sounds fabulous and it’s a testament to your wonderful independence. I gaze on every word of your travel so I can memorize the way you do it. Of course, you make it sound so easy and fun, and I, too, look forward to a camper adventure one day. Do you ever get scared, I wonder?
The only time I was ever even slightly concerned was when I camped in the parking lot at work because I needed to be in super early the next day. The parking lot bordered the walking path and when the bars let out, an argument ensued just outside my bedroom window. Oh, and there was that time the mountain lion was right below my open window but that didn’t scare me…I was safely inside. ❤️
