Both sleeves completed…and they match!
Mr. FixIt had some things to do in town yesterday afternoon so I had the day to myself. As I settled into my recliner with my knitting, we watched a couple old episodes of Andy Griffith. I don’t know why, but that show is so soothing to me. It brings back warm childhood memories and I knew a whole bunch of “Aunt Bees” when I was growing up in West Virginia in the ‘50s and ‘60s. And we all knew “Miss Crump” as one of our own elementary school teachers.
At one point, Mr. FixIt was scrolling through some of the shows in On Demand and I saw the new show “Ghosts”. I’ve seen little snippets of it in commercials or on Facebook and ask my sweetie to stop on the pilot episode to see what it was all about. The premise is, an elderly woman dies and leaves her dilapidated mansion to her great niece and her husband. With dreams of leaving the city, the wife convinces her husband to convert the monstrosity of a house into a quaint B&B…complete with a plethora of trapped spirits who have died on the property over the years. I was hooked! I spent the rest of the day binge watching the series and caught up to the current date. It was exactly what I needed…a whole day of knitting and laughing and having a generally awesome day.
Along about 5:30 or so, I caught something out of the corner of my eye. It took me quite a while to figure out what it was. As I stared out the back door, I caught a sudden movement and looked up. There was Pumpkin…upside down, looking in at me. What a funny cat. She’d come back down and look in the door, then go right back up and look at me upside down again. Silly goose.
Peekaboo!
I got the second sleeve finished and picked up the parked stitches of the body. It won’t be long and I’ll be changing to the last color…a deep charcoal grey heather. I’m not saying every stitch is perfect on this sweater, but I’m pretty proud of how it’s turning out. I’m still getting really tired by the end of the day, but the pain in my neck is much improved. I had such a tickle in my throat for the first three days that I cleared it repeatedly. I believe I’ve irritated my airways and now have a deep cough. No fever, so I’ll just use my inhalers and watch it closely. If it is not better by Friday, I’ll get it checked before the weekend. Mr. FixIt brought me a sandwich for supper so there was no cooking going on at this house last night.
The weather has been beautiful this week…warmer, even into the 50’s yesterday. I love how the days are getting longer and I am getting stronger. Things are looking up!

Try some Cold ease lozenges for your tickle. They are zinc and I find them very helpful. Feel better soon!
