I didn’t knit a stitch on Friday. I let myself process my test results, thanked God for the fact it’s nothing worse, and “camped” in the field. Ohhhh….what a treat that was! We saw 65° on Friday and it was down in the 40’s overnight. I was awakened a few times to the sound of rain on the camper roof. The Big Birdhouse is a sanctuary, indeed. And perhaps this week, I’ll get out to the farm for a couple of days. That would be icing on the cake!

I worked on the sweater yesterday and I’m making great progress. I like a sweater to come down low on my hips. Camouflage, you know. I think I’ll knit with the dark color at least as wide as the dusty rose band…and maybe an inch or two longer. I’m almost ready to start the last skein of yarn on this project. I have to tell you…I know I wouldn’t want to work on a project like this in warm weather. This thing is like an electric blanket on my lap. It’s going to make a wonderful, warm sweater.

We watched the Olympics most of the afternoon. I got drowsy and went back out to the camper for a little nap, which was lovely. It wasn’t nearly as warm yesterday, and by nightfall it was actually snowing! I don’t think it will amount to much. We’ll be cool for a couple of days then get back to springtime temperatures again. This is one of the biggest reasons I live back in my home state. The winters aren’t too bad…nothing like Colorado.

I’m going to put a batch of spaghetti sauce in the crockpot this morning. We’ll watch more of the Olympics, I’ll knit, and we’ll watch the Super Bowl. I have to pull for our neighbors and hope the Bengals win! Joe Burrow is from Athens…which is not all that far from us. I love what he has done for the food bank in his hometown. Since the Division Championship Game, ten years worth of donations have arrived. That will make a world of difference for families who need some help with food.

I’m looking forward to working on a new project soon. That’s one of the reasons socks and dishcloths are so satisfying…closer to the instant gratification I enjoy. Actually, I haven’t been working on this sweater for all that long. It looks like I started it on January 30th, so that’s not bad for a relative rookie!
