I didn’t sleep well Thursday night and ended up grabbing a couple of hours sleep on the couch. I had promised Ben we’d have Sausage Gravy and Biscuits one morning but when he saw me asleep on the sofa, he assumed it wasn’t going to be biscuit day. So, he ate cereal and the rest of the crew got up. I heated up the French Toast from the other morning and I had my usual egg in a tortilla with cheese. We all decided we’d have breakfast for lunch so I made the biscuits and gravy in the early afternoon and we were happy campers.
The girls came over as I was baking the biscuits. They were getting ready to go to the Taylor Swift concert. Wow…this is a whole thing. You have to dress in the “era” of your favorite album. Lots of pink and sparklies. The girls made bracelets and you trade them with others at the concert. They stood in the merch line for hours to get their t-shirts and what have you. And I know, as I’m writing this, they are having the time of their lives. I do love that their musical idol is a brilliant young business woman who isn’t overly sexual onstage. Who knows what time they’ll get in from the concert, but I know there are going to be plenty of stories to tell.
Mr. FixIt and I went out to the Westminster Hills Open Space to see the sunset last night. You could see the storm clouds building northwest of Boulder and I hoped it wouldn’t get down as far as the stadium where the kids are. Around 9:15, the storm hit where we are staying and you could hear the ping-plink-ting of graupel which is a soft hail…almost snow. I watched the radar and it looks like the storm will completely miss the concert.
We have been having so much fun! Ben and Sue are as much family to us as any blood relative. My Colorado son-in-law came from good, good people. They have a funeral to go to today. We are staying here and Daughter #2 and her wife are coming over for a visit in the afternoon. Even though we’ve been busy, I have been relaxing and thoroughly enjoying our time here.
We got here two weeks ago and we have ten more days to go. It just flies by so quickly.
