In the Kitchen…Again!

I really love baking. It’s been awhile since I’ve baked a pie. Mainly because I haven’t been eating all that yummy stuff and truth be told, by sweetheart doesn’t need all that sugar either. When it came time to volunteer items to bring to our family dinner this afternoon, I elected to bring the Sour Cream Apple Pie as well as those yummy Brussels sprouts. I filmed the pie baking session and it recorded correctly this time. I’ll get that edited and posted as soon as I can.

We had a lovely day here at home watching football and eating leftover turkey. I played on the computer, creating some designs and tweaking my Pinterest account. I haven’t spent a lot of time on there this year. When I went in to look at it, I was really amazed at how many pins I’ve managed to accumulate over the years. Pinterest is one of those places where you can find yourself going down a rabbit hole of delightful photos and cool projects. I have these great ideas. It’s just I can’t live the 200 years I’d need to do them all. I’m like everyone else…it’s all eye candy and dreams!

My sister-in-law and her family went to the Michigan-Ohio game so that was really exciting. I kept looking for them when the camera panned the stands, but there were only about 110,000 people there was practically no chance I’d see them. But I can tell them I looked for them!

This was one of those days that had me feeling nostalgic. I used the beautiful crocks my Aunt Peeps gave me many years ago. With the house smelling of apples and cinnamon, the Christmas tree twinkling in background, my sweet husband sitting opposite me talking to the football players with a running commentary, loved ones checking in… it made me happy to be alive and so very grateful for my many blessings.

I hope you enjoy your day and it’s peaceful and relaxing.

    1. I steamed them till they were just perfect, then I sprinkled a pound of crumbled crispy bacon, a cup and a half of chopped walnuts, half a package of dried cranberries over them. Then I drizzled it with this. Mantova Balsamic Vinegar Glaze of Modena PGI, Perfect for Ice Cream, Marinades, Cocktails, Pasta Sauce, Salad Dressing, Vinaigrette, Reduction, 8.5 oz. (Pack of 2) https://a.co/d/aMQvgLs Oh, my….the kids even eat it!!!
