Knitting in front of the “fire”!
A monumental day in my life and the lives of all of us. My re-birth day was marred three years ago when the Capitol was stormed and of course, with it being an election year…we’re going to revisit it from every angle. For me personally, I was left traumatized by the events of that day. To my parent’s generation, it was Pearl Harbor. To mine, it was JFK’s assassination. And now…well, what ISN’T traumatizing these days? School shootings, train derailments, natural disasters, grown a$$ adults acting like idiots on network television. I just want it to stop. I want my great grandchildren to grow up in a world where these things aren’t normalized. And I want to stop feeling traumatized every time I watch the evening news. I think I’m going to have to go back to avoiding it again and get my news online from trusted sources. Not sticking my head in the sand. Just opting for sanity and keeping my environment as peaceful as I can. This isn’t a political rant…just a statement of desire. Peace.
Yesterday was a lovely, peaceful day. We both slept in later than usual. We’ve discovered sleeping in separate rooms gives us both a better night’s sleep and keeps our marriage calm and joyful. I fixed a nice breakfast and went to my studio to make the hat and scarf to take to Mrs. FixIt 1.0 today. I think this one will fit her better. Our second great grandson is turning FOUR years old this week. He is the sweetest little guy…a real Papaw’s boy.
I puttered around a little with the things I brought home from the farm yesterday. I did a little research on a senior portrait I found mixed in with her papers. I posted it on the county genealogy page for the county where they graduated and got a hit. A gentleman posted that he forwarded it to the lady’s niece and she’ll be contacting me to retrieve the photo.
I called about the table I really wanted, and…even though it wasn’t a bad price, I decided to wait before I jump on it. I want to see if anyone I know might have one they want to part with first.
I’ve pulled out some more yarn to make another “Tote of Many Colors!” When I get a few things made ahead, I’ll have some of my handmade things for sale here soon. I would LOVE knowing things I made with my own hands are gracing your lives!
I made the Chicken Parmesan yesterday for supper and that dish just does not disappoint! SO yummy!
If the weather permits, we’ll head into town today for the little guy’s birthday party. If not, we’ll just hang out here at the house. Either way, life is so good. I’m sure glad I stuck around for the “fourth act”!

”Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.“
2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV
Could you please tell me which knitting machine this is?
That is a Sentro 48 needle.
