We got a little more snow on Friday night and it was SO cold. It was another indoor day here at Marshmallow Ranch and I was a happy camper. I ran out of my Popcorn Pancake Mix so I just made some from scratch. The were so fluffy and good…the recipe used buttermilk and both baking powder and baking soda. I didn’t have any buttermilk so I did what my mom always did…just add white vinegar to regular milk and it works great!
Mr. FixIt had to run the snowblower again and I retreated to the basement to work in my studio. I made a second strip for the baby blanket, then ran out just a few rows short of finishing the second. So I looked up projects for the 22-needle machine and found this darling little Amish baby doll. I fiddled wit the pattern a little and just love the way it turned out. I think I can make these and sell them along with hats and scarves. I am trying to get several things made then I’ll post them.
Big did great in her swim meet this weekend. She won one of her events, and her relay team came in 2nd Place. It is so exciting to watch her on the big screen…and it’s free! And I don’t have to leave my little nest. I’m such a happy little hermit! I can stay here and create to my heart’s content…and my husband brings me tea! I do 95% of the kitchen work…cooking and cleaning. I love it, but when I’m really involved with a project, Mr. FixIt will make me a sandwich to go with that tea. He’s the best husband EVER!
While it’s nice to hibernate here in the “craft cave,” I’m also making plans for travel this year. I’ve got ideas about where to camp this year and I definitely need time with my besties. We’ll need a trip to Colorado to see the family. I need some time to myself at The Farm. I would also like to entertain more. We have such a comfortable home…I’d love to have some dinner parties scheduled. Small groups so there’s always room for conversation and the budget doesn’t take a big hit.
The low for last night was predicted to be 14° and tonight is supposed to get down to 9°! After that, we should warm up some. Still, I’ll be happy making beautiful things in my little studio.
