Happy isn’t just a place or a mood or a circumstance. Happy is a choice…a state of BE-ing. I was in my happy space yesterday. Church, mowing, and finishing the arrangements for our camping trip to Colorado this summer. And after cleaning myself up…my happy space was in the camper!
Oh…it was 80° with full on sunshine yesterday! There was a breeze so it didn’t really feel that hot. I stayed hydrated and about the time I was finished I asked myself… “Did I put on sunscreen?” Hmmmm…I don’t remember, but I don’t think I did. Too late now. I’m not pink though, so I guess I dodged a bullet. However… I DO have my appointment with my dermatologist today. It would be exceedingly poor form to show up with a sunburn!
Everything is getting so green and the trees have flowered and are beginning to leaf out. We have three redbud trees out by the front creek that are in full bloom right now. They are so beautiful and make me smile every time I see them. But, try as I might, photos just don’t do them justice. When you drive through the countryside, they line the road and look like wisps of purpley-pink smoke. I just love them so much and wish I had a hundred of them!
I was so excited to get the reservations completed for the Colorado trip. We’ll be gone a little longer this time. I figure if you’re going all that way, you’d better make it worth your while. We will be hitting a lot of the same campgrounds we stayed at last year. I added extra nights to a couple of our favorites so we can enjoy them more and not feel like we’re so rushed coming home. We have family lined up to check on Pumpkin Kitty. Now all we need to do is work out a plan for mowing our place. That’s going to be the hardest part of the whole thing!
Today is knitting group and a trip to town.
I’m in my happy space!
