I stripped the beds and washed the linens yesterday. I cooked up two pounds of breakfast sausage to put in the freezer. One pound in patties for breakfasts and the other half pound for biscuits and gravy on the road. I went through the kitchen boxes and took out what we really don’t need and added some things we did. Our son and daughter-in-law came out last night with the grandpup to make sure he knew what obstacles to look for in the yard when they mow. Keys have been dispensed. Mail has been held. Kitty has been taken care of. Now the only thing to do is pack the truck, hook up the camper, and hit the road tomorrow. I’ll want to get a pretty early start so we can get to our campsite at a decent hour. I love ending the driving day by 3-4:00 at the latest. That way we can have a rest, fix a nice supper, and head to bed for a good night’s sleep before doing it all over again. We’ll be spending four nights on the road in each direction. Three of those nights will be at campgrounds we’ve stopped at before and loved and one for a new adventure. We take a more northerly route going out, and more southerly coming back. I’d love to have a trip where we could just meander on the two lanes and take as much time as we’d like, but this is not one of those trips. We have things that are more pressing this go round.
I’m just going to drop in with “picture postcards” till we get there and get settled.
Who’s up for a ROAD TRIP???
