AAA came yesterday and towed our truck to the garage. They were kind enough to let us ride along and dropped us off to pick up the rental car. It’s a tiny Ford Focus that feels like a sardine can compared to our F-150. But we’re grateful to have it.
They’ll look at the truck this morning. Hopefully it’s something minor. We went to a couple of shops then met the kids at the ice cream shop. We met our kids and their friends for supper. Afterwards, we went to the marina for the sunset and it was a doozy!
The best news is, we rechecked the reservation system for our campground and someone had cancelled an electric site and I snapped it up in a hurry! So, if we have to stay a few more days, we’ll have power.
See, what I told you is right. God answers our prayers and helps us with the most mundane things if we ask. If it’s His will. We ended the evening cuddled up on the loveseat recliner watching Andy Griffith. You know, he lived just a few miles from here in Manteo. The gal at the garage says he wanted to be left alone and hated it if people bothered him in his personal life. The locals learned to go down a different aisle at the market when he was in there. She said Andy walked around barefoot 365 days a year. It must be challenging to be so recognized and well loved that you can’t even go out to dinner in a restaurant without people interrupting you.
Hopefully today brings good news regarding the truck.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:2
