First, I wanted to give you an update on Hubby #2. He had the kidney transplant on Monday and was released from the hospital yesterday. They’ve rented an Air B&B to stay close for doctor’s appointments for a while. He reported to me yesterday that the kidney is working like a charm. I want to thank you all for your continued prayers. God is good…all the time!
I saw something come across my FB feed yesterday. There were some old photos of the area around the New River Gorge and the Hawk’s Nest Rock Overlook here in WV. I never visited this area till much later in life…probably in my forties. But as I was growing up, my grandma talked about Hawk’s Nest. I can’t quite remember what she used to say about it. She had a saying for everything. Like “A dime’s worth a smell o’ my jug.” Or “Wish in one hand, spit in the other…you get just as far.” When I would tell her about one of my hare-brained scheme about traveling somewhere, I seem to remember her saying “She’s a goin’ to Hawk’s Nest.” Meaning, it was a fool’s errand. She was a pip!
I saved a portion of my bread dough the other day so I made homemade pizza for supper last last night. It’s so much better than restaurant pizza. I’m really enjoying all this baking. I was a little worried because I hadn’t weighed myself for a week or so. I was sure I’d gained weight from all these yummy baked goods. However, I got on the scale yesterday morning and it was exactly the same. I know I gained a few pounds after I got back from Colorado, but I’ve maintained the same weight all winter. I should be able to start losing in the spring when I become more active.
Warm weather is coming, kids! Hang in there!

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” John 14:12-14 NIV

Today I am grateful for Hubby #2’s healing and friendship. It took us a lot of work to mend some fences and the fact that he is doing this well is a miracle.
