“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 NIV
Yesterday was a long, l-o-n-g day. I put 44 pounds of pork butt in the smoker at noon and finally sat down at 9:00 with the pork off the bone and in the freezer and the dishes only half washed.
Mr. FixIt tried starting the brushfire at 5:00 and it didn’t start burning till 7:00. When I came out at 9:00, he had quite the blaze going so we pulled up a couple of chairs and relaxed. We haven’t had a fire all summer so this was really nice.
I’m telling you, there’s nothing like planning a wedding to get long-neglected chores finished on the ol’ homestead. I told him last night we should get married more often! He took a load of junk to the scrap yard and has the trailer ready to load up more today. The fellow who was supposed to get our hay bales for seating called last night to say he couldn’t find any. So…now to Plan B.
The one thing I used to tell the brides when I was helping them plan their weddings…go into the day knowing that it will not look exactly like you have pictured it every day since you were ten. You have to go with the flow. In that vein…I’ll just take a deep breath and remember it’s going to be beautiful. I’ll find hay somewhere! Or not. ❤️
It is wonderful following your journey,Ginny! I am wishing you and your soon to be hub a lifetime of wonderful happenings! The best on your hay search!

I love bon fires. Just know the day will be beautiful, no matter what; because you will be a beautiful bride, with your Prince Charming waiting at the front for you with love in his eyes.
