Yesterday was laundry day. Now that I have running water in my camper, I can hand wash delicates and hang them out to dry. But that doesn’t work for everything so a trip to the laundromat was in order. Doing laundry at home is one of the luxuries of my “former lifestyle” that I have to admit, I miss. But really, the biggest hassle is where to put the laundry basket while I accumulate enough dirty clothes to make a trip worthwhile. On the upside, I can do multiple loads at the same time and a chore that used to take all day is easily completed in a couple of hours. Also, I’ve had lovely conversations with people while I’m waiting for the machines to do their thing. I invariably learn something…about them, about the world, about myself. Hardworking people who may be struggling in today’s economy. The middle aged mom who is remodeling her laundry room. The 61 year old writer who gave up the house with the washer and dryer in order to have a simpler life. Yes…it is my choice to live this simpler version of me.
Ginny…version 61.8. 🙂
So far, even with the sacrifices, I’m enjoying it immensely.
I am finding the drive to exercise again. That is SO hard for me because I repeatedly tell anyone who stands still long enough that I hate to exercise. So therefore…I hate to exercise. In my Pollyanna-esque way…I’m changing my viewpoint. From now on, I’m going to go outside to play. When did we stop playing? When we were kids, we couldn’t WAIT to go out and ride our bikes or roller skate…running around from dawn till dusk. Now we whine and complain like someone is trying to torture us. Nope, I’m going outside to play. Come join me.
Ollie, Ollie out’s, in free!
