It rained off and on yesterday. Fortunately, it wasn’t raining when we packed up the truck and camper and it held off till we got to the campground. We waited in the truck because they were big raindrops and that’s usually a sign of a brief shower. We have camped in this particular site several times so I backed in slick as a whistle. We were both starving so I fixed us some sandwiches and we set the camp up.
When it started getting dusk, we fished a little bit. Didn’t even get a nibble, but it’s fun to try. Two of my step kids came up to see the campsite and bring us some burgers. We had a fire with the propane campfire pit I bought when I was on The Grand Adventure after Mr. Virgo died. I take it with me most every camping trip and never end up using so it was nice to sit on the banks of the Ohio River with the flames flickering at our feet and no smoky smell!
We were both pretty well done by 9:00 and we snuggled in under the covers. The low was predicted to be 48° during the night so I’m really glad I have my “toaster oven” sleeping beside me! This will be short tonight and hopefully I’ll be able to post the beautiful picture I took of the sliver of a moon over the river just before dark. It makes me wonder why God bothers with us…we are infinitesimal compared to the grand beauty of the universe!
More tomorrow!

“I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous, your handmade sky-jewelry, Moon and stars mounted in their settings. Then I look at my micro-self and wonder, Why do you bother with us? Why take a second look our way?”
