A New Day…A New Month…A New Year!

Well, after four years of not so much as a sniffle, I woke up yesterday morning with a scratchy throat and a cough, tired and achy, and generally just…blah! I’m so disappointed, but I wouldn’t trade spending time with the kids for anything. Little germ bombs! lol I’m sure it won’t last long…right? At least I have cookies!

I pretty much spent the day in the Big Red Chair. Mr. FixIt cooked oats for me for breakfast and brought me a sandwich in the afternoon. I started crocheting an Artisan Market Bag and watched educational YouTube videos in between football games. It was all I could do to stay up to ring in the New Year with Mr. FixIt.

2024 was busy as usual with the addition of so many unexpected expenses. We got to travel a lot which was fun…the beach twice and our annual trip to Colorado. We’ve been blessed to have good health, a roof over our heads, and food on our table with enough to share with those less fortunate.

I remember when we moved to Colorado when Hubby #1 was in the Air Force. That New Year’s Eve, we were at a party ringing in the New Year. I happened to look at the time when it was 10:00. I knew it was midnight in WV and I just had an overwhelming urge to talk to my mom. This was LONG before cell phones, so I used our host’s phone and charged the call to my home phone. We didn’t talk long…we couldn’t afford it in those early years of marriage…but I just HAD to hear her voice! Oh, I would give just about anything to hear her voice again. She’s been gone 21 years this month and I still think of calling her to tell her about something.

I don’t know what the future holds for us in 2025, but I know who walks with me so I never have to do it alone. I pray you always have enough.

Keep hope alive, dear ones!
