Well, I sent Mr. FixIt back to West Virginia with our son and daughter-in-law on Saturday. They arrived home safely that night. I don’t remember if I told you I tweaked my back Friday night so I was kinda laid up over the weekend. I did go fishing Sunday afternoon and caught two fish…my only catches for the week.
I might possibly go again today. It’s the last day of my license. I spent yesterday cleaning the camper, washing the windows inside and out, and just organizing in general. When you are occupying a small space, you need to keep it cleaned up or it quickly gets out of hand.
I drove up to Manteo again to get the tools out of the truck. I wanted to check out the electric jack on the camper. It keeps failing off and on and if I really need to hitch up or unhitch, I need to raise and lower the camper. There is an emergency gear you can turn manually, but I’d need a tool for it. I found a socket in the tool box that will fit.
There is an RV parts store across the sound from Kitty Hawk and I’ll run over there tomorrow to see if they have one that fits. If not, it’s another trip to Lowe’s. Today’s photos are the circle swing at Watermen’s Wind Surfing site, a Ginny-shadow up on one of the Nag’s Head Beaches along with the surf and sand, the bottom of my boots FULL of sand burrs, a beautiful sunrise, a little grunt fish, me holding the ribbon fish, the ribbon fish laying on the pier, those crazy teeth, the Wanchese Marina, fresh flounder at the Wanchese Marina Restaurant, and the friendly host (owner?) of the restaurant…Matt Kellam.
When I was up at the Lighthouse Garage in Manteo, I asked the girls where locals go for great seafood that doesn’t break the bank. They recommended one of the restaurants at the Wanchese Marina and I’m telling you…if you EVER find yourself down this way, make it a point to eat over there. It was FABULOUS! A huge filet of flounder, fries, killer hush puppies, and coleslaw along with cocktail and tartar sauces for $11.99 plus tax and fees, drink not included. I’m liable to be here through the week so I’ll send you some “postcards” along the way!
