Adventurers!

I absolutely surprised the heck out of myself this trip. I haven’t slept in a tent in 35 years and even then it wasn’t a terribly successful endeavor. It was with Hubby #2, it was late June, and we were setting up a little two man tent in the snow on Wolf Creek Pass. I blew up two little air mattresses that I insisted on having only to stick a fork in one and proclaim that one as HIS. It was cold, we had poor equipment, and I did not have fun. Along about 11:00 when I was praying I’d fall asleep, a car pulled up and turned off the engine and lights. No doors opening and closing. No sound at all. I got brave enough to look out and in was a small motor home. I informed hubby #2 if he ever wanted to get me alone in the woods again, it would be in one of those. We never got alone in the woods again.

So, tent camping left a bad taste in my mouth and I’ve sworn I would never do it again. Then my truck broke down. And a tent seemed like a viable, albeit TENTATIVE solution. Voila! Little did I know I’d love it! Now, instead of changing the whole living situation and getting two smaller campers…I think I’ll just invest in a little higher quality sleeping bag and a couple more comfort things and take off with my tent anytime the urge strikes me! Win-Win!!!!!

“By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.”

Hebrews 11:9
