For me, watching White Christmas while I decorated the tree is non-negotiable. For Mr. FixIt, it’s driving around to see the Christmas Lights around town. We’ll go several times in the coming weeks… first one area, then another. He took me to Oglebay Park for our first Christmas together. They have an amazing light display. I’d love to go to the Biltmore during Christmas some day. It’s pretty pricey, but it’s something to save up for.</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>We had a lovely day yesterday… Popcorn Pancakes for breakfast, leftover turkey sandwiches for supper, and lots of football in between. Around 5:00, Mr. FixIt asked me if I wanted him to run over to the Piggly Wiggly to get some more Brussels Sprouts. I didn’t imagine they would have what I wanted so I asked if he would mind going to Sam’s with me. Here it was…Black Friday and I was voluntarily going to town to shop. I must be crazy. </p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Surprisingly, Sam’s was not crowded at all. We got in and out relatively quickly. They have the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever seen. They are big and very fresh. I make a great dish with bacon, nuts, and black balsamic glaze. I’ll do those in the morning and bake the apple pie this afternoon.</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>I had an ulterior motive for going to town, though. My lifelong friend you all have been praying for has been in rehab for awhile. She had major back surgery a month ago and she’s working so hard to get stronger so she can get back to a normal life. Sharon and I have been besties since seventh grade when she and her family moved a few houses from me. We became inseparable. We stayed in touch off and on after graduation, then reconnected in the early ‘90s. She turned 70 years old on Thanksgiving and I really needed to go see her. She looked really good and I’m so glad we got to sit beside each other and hold hands and reminisce for awhile.</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Things like that remind me our time on this earth is so fleeting. I can still feel the wind in my face when Sharon and I rode our bikes down the big hill. I can still see the rain turning everything to a sea of mud when we went to church camp. And, here we are… at the other end. I’m not being defeatist… I’m being pragmatic. Hopefully we have lots of time to do great things and enjoy good health. I dropped down to part time at the neurology office and started making art jewelry from antique silverware and maps. As a matter of fact some of you have been with me since the very beginning and can remember my little Etsy shop. When I lost Mr. Virgo, I tried to keep the shop going, but once I sold the Colorado house and hit the road in my camper I kinda lost my mojo.</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Time passed and adventures came and I finally ended up on The Farm…the home of my heart. And I ran into Mr. FixIt…the holder of my heart. And now…its been ten years since Mr. Virgo’s passing and it’s time to turn a corner and do something wonderful and fresh and fun to take me through the NEXT ten years! The joy of my heart!</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Marshmallow Ranch is back on Etsy once again!!!!!</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It looks decidedly different than it did in the “old days”. My art is different. My skills are different. Shopping experiences are different. And most importantly…I AM DIFFERENT! What I am presenting to you today is a whole new vision that incorporates my art, my graphic design skills, my quirky sense of humor, and my desire to connect with people in ways I haven’t even thought of yet. </p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>I’ve been working diligently on this project and I’m very happy with the way it turned out. I am offering ways for you to own my art…in the form of my photography, my compositions and graphic design elements, and my words…on clothing, accessories, shoes, tea towels, candles. From kitchen items all the way up to suitcases. I’ve combed over this time and again…and I’m sure there still are things that need to be tweaked a little here and there.</p>\n<!-- /wp:paragraph -->\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>There is a button pinned on my Facebook page as well as one on the blog that will lead you right to the shop. It’s not quite as easy to head back to the blog, but the quickest way is to use the back arrow key on your browser page. The category of listings is in the sidebar to the left. I will be adding things going forward…more home goods, clothing, and accessories as well as vintage items. And perhaps I’ll get back in the studio and make pretty things again with my hands one of these days.
