It’s springtime at #ruralking and Mr. FixIt and I went for cat food and got our fresh popcorn and chicky fix after church yesterday. I love the sweetness of the little peeps as they scurry from one end of their enclosure to the other. Snuggling close together for warmth, these tiny fluff balls with itty bitty feet will melt your heart. I wanted them all. I justified all the reasons we should have 300 chickens. They give eggs. We could sell the eggs. They look uber cool pecking around the yard or garden. Never mind that we don’t HAVE a garden. We have five acres…that’s good enough. The problem with having chickens…or any farm animals…is you have to actually, you know…BE there. We travel a lot. So, we get our chicken fix at Rural King.
I’m on sabbatical at the farm for a few days. I have some writing deadlines to meet. I need to sort my papers for taxes. I need to download data from my bank into Quicken so I CAN do said taxes. (If you have been here on any given April 15th in the last five years, you know what a mess I am keeping track of that kind of stuff.) Every year…same thing. And every year I swear the next year will be easier. And it never is. *sigh*
Update on the painting…it’s getting closer to being available. I had this great big exposé typed and chickened out. After I got blocked by these people, I started getting all kinds of spam in my e-mail. Who knows what they are capable of. Let’s just say, these Facebook pages that portray themselves as Christians and post tons of memes and have only been online a week and have nearly 6000 followers and promote prints of stolen artwork are totally uncool and you should be especially wary of any promoted post that uses a boat load of emoticons like ?? and ❤ and ? and ? and ? in their descriptions. Enough said. I’ll keep you aprised as to when the painting is available. If you want to be on my email list, you can sign up in the little box “Become a Rancher!”
Have a beautiful Monday! ❤
“Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Romans 12:19-21 NIV
