My Sister friend Michelle had a running bet with her dad. If she had snow in her North facing yard on May 1st, he owed her a cup of coffee and if she didn’t, she bought him a cup. He died on May 1, 2013 just six weeks after Mr. Virgo. She really misses her dad and thinks he might have won the bet this year…and sure wishes she could buy him that cup of coffee today.
How many times have we thought, “If I could just talk with him one more time, I’d be ok with this.” That’s a lie we tell ourselves, of course. Because you wouldn’t be ok. You just want to barter with God. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.
So, in honor of Michelle and her wonderful dad, her friend Frank suggested we all buy someone we love a cup of coffee on May 1st, then Christy suggested we tell about it and use the hashtag #CoffeeWithLove to share it. I think that’s a great idea! Let’s make it a “thing”!

““Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.””
John 14:1-4 NIV
