Country Living is the Best!

Ever have one of those days that you do SO many things, you can’t keep track of them? That was what yesterday was like. I’d set timers and alarms and notes and if I didn’t add what they were for, I was toast. I got up early and finished making the chicken and noodles for Mr. FixIt to take to the biannual company alumni dinner. He had to leave for the event at around 10:30. I worked on the pool.

I dug the pressure washer out of the building and cleaned the algae off the pool ladder. Try as I might, I could NOT figure out how to put it together so I left it on the pool deck for Mr. FixIt to do later. I thought the paint party I was attending was at noon. Turns out it was 1:00 so I had an extra hour to work. I suctioned the bottom of the pool till it was time to go.

One of my knitting friends hosted the paint party I attended and another of our knitting gals came. We had a whole table full of people…probably twelve of us. It was fun to see everyone’s interpretation of the subject… “Three Daisies.” It was also nice to meet new people. They were a very friendly group!

When I got home, I immediately jumped on the tractor and started mowing. It takes me about four hours to mow. I was hoping the extension of the pollinator gardens would cut down on the mowing time, but it actually takes a little extra to mow all around them to keep them looking the way I want them…with paths meandering through. It also takes longer at this time of year because I will not mow over a bee if I can help it. So, there’s a lot of starts and stops along the way. But, I don’t mind…I’m just so grateful to see the bees and they are loving the new gardens!

Mr. FixIt got home shortly after I started mowing. He told me my chicken noodles were a big hit! (He’s such a sweetie!) He took the sand out of the pool filter and dumped it on the driveway and put the new sand in. When I was finished with the mowing, I vacuumed the pool one more time then we put the chlorine in. It immediately started cleaning and the pool water changed colors right in front of our eyes. I’m showing you a picture and you have to believe me that this looks a hundred times better than in did when we started…and no frogs!!! They have decided the trees around the creek are a better place for them than the pool. (I did take the hose and sprayed under the metal rim of the pool but I didn’t scare up any froggies so I think we’re good!)

I will tell you what…by the time we were finished, it was dark and I was D.O.N.E. I didn’t even have the spoons to take a shower. I just went out to the camper and vegged. I think today will be more of the same!!! It’s the Lord’s Day and we will rest.
