I had a hard time getting to sleep Thursday night. I tossed and turned and just could not settle my mind and body. I finally started to drift off when a pack of coyotes started howling…close! The must have been down along the creek at the edge of the near field. It wasn’t long and they were off again, but if you haven’t heard that eerie ruckus, let me tell you…it makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I woke up every hour the rest of the night and awoke having a very weird dream. As I’m writing this Friday night at 10:00, I’m sure hoping I have a better night’s sleep.
Mr. FixIt is trying to fix the lid on the console in his truck. We’ve been working on it for the last couple of weeks. A new one costs $700!!! And we can’t find just the piece that’s broken. I’ve suggested we use magnets to hold it closed so that’s the next thing we’ll explore. I mean…it’s a 2007. We’re not sinking a lot of money in it.
We had a nice dinner for a change last night. I made Southern Shrimp and Grits. Oh, it is SO good. We had enough leftover to have a bit for lunch today. Daughter #2 is feeling a little better…still pretty tired. Hubby #2 had his dialysis catheter removed yesterday! His kidney numbers are looking so much better…almost completely normal. He told me last night that, in 2024, only 300 people over the age of 65 had dual transplants. A sobering thought…he is a member of an elite club and that privilege is not lost on him. He and his wife went to church right after the procedure yesterday to give thanks. We are all so grateful to still have him. And so appreciative of all your thoughts and prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It’s supposed to be a little cooler here for a few days. I do believe Tuesday might be the first night I get to sleep in the camper! The low that night is predicted to be 53° and that’s quite comfortable for sleeping.
And here it is….March!!! I always feel like I’ve finally made it through winter when March comes to West Virginia. Wahooooo!!!

Today I am grateful for the good news about Hubby #2’s health. My kid’s dad is a pretty special guy and he is loved by so many. I’m so happy he gets another chance at life!
