While this was certainly a beautiful memorial, I wonder if it will ever be completed in even my grandchildren’s lifetime. They wanted to stay for the laser light show on the rocks after dark, I got us there WAY too early (4 hours!), and by the time the show started, it was cold and drizzling. The show consisted of the story of the sculptor being asked by a Native American elder to create a memorial to show Americans they had heroes, too. It went on to talk about the lands being taken away from the tribes. And ended with Lee Greenwood’s song, God Bless the USA, which was rather an odd way to sum everything up. Anyway, I wanted to post this because it really will be a beautiful monument some day.
