Day 298: My New “Tiny Home”

I know today is “Feel Good Friday” and I know I usually scour the internet for a feel good story for today. There’s just an awful lot of ugly out there this week. I understand. It’s hard to look at. And I’ve had one hell of a week with all the deaths and destruction. So, I decided today I’d share someone special with you. This is my daughter in love. I’ll call her “TJ”. She is one of the special gifts that came along with Mr. FixIt and is one of the extra people I get to love on now.

A couple of years ago, I saw the CUTEST little dollhouse kit on Amazon and I absolutely HAD to have it. I bought it and kept the box on the coffee table for a while. I’d pick it up and look at all those little pieces and think…””I’ll just put this thing away and when I get some time, I’ll put it together.” The kit has been resting on the top shelf of the guest room closet for those two years. I even got it down once, then something else took precedence and back up it went.

My step-daughter, TJ, is very crafty. She worked for months making beautiful gifts for everyone for Christmas, as well as several darling decorations. When we sat outside on the covered front porch, exchanging our gifts, she wondered what she might make now that Christmas was over. I immediately thought of my little trailer kit and jumped up to get it. I knew it would take a good bit of time and effort to make it, so I told her if she would make mine for me…and if she liked doing it…I’d buy her one of her own.

Ever since Christmas, I’ve received excited phone calls, texts, and photos updating me on the progress and she absolutely loved doing it. They came over last night to bring the finished project and it’s the cutest thing I ever saw!!! I set it up on one of the shelves in our new bookcases in the office. She’s so cute…maybe she’ll inspire me to get back to work on my little ‘67 Franklin again!
