Unfortunately, there was a puddle of water in the camper yesterday morning so off she’s gone to the camper hospital!
As you know, we’ve been having some problems with our new camper…the Big Birdhouse. It’s got some leaks and there was a problem with the part that raises and lowers the top plus a few other things. New campers can have bugs that need fixing and it just seems this one has more than her fair share. I’ve been communicating with the dealership, but they weren’t hearing back from the manufacturer so I took matters into my own hands on Thursday. I sent an email to both the dealership and the manufacturer to make sure we were “all on the same page”. Miraculously, within half an hour, I had three emails from the parties involved and things started moving. I was polite, yet firm, and my “shot across the bow” got the attention it needed. Yesterday morning, Little and I emptied out the camper and took it up to the dealership and they will work on it first thing Monday as they have promised to give it priority. We shall see what the next steps will be, but for the time being…we are camperless. *sigh*
Little and I are cut from the same bolt of cloth. We both love camping, cooking/baking, crafting, and antiquing/thrifting. We dropped off the camper and headed to a really great antique store in Lancaster. It is housed in an old factory and it is jam packed with so much cool stuff. I found a glass gallon milk jug…the kind with the plastic handle. I’ve wanted one for iced tea. The container I’ve been using is kind of awkward and Mr. FixIt has trouble manipulating it without spilling. Little found a specific type of suitcase they’ve been looking for since 2016! It was a really fun excursion and we both found a treasure.
On our way home, we stopped at my favorite restaurant in Logan, Ohio. Millstone BBQ has the BEST baby back ribs. Little and I shared a full slab and each had a side. Topped off with sweet tea and lemonade and we were happy little campers when we got done. We stopped to see the smallest church in Ohio which is adjacent to a rest area near Coolville. We went to the Kroger store in Belpre. I’ve been looking for masa preparada…a mix for making homemade flour tortillas…but they didn’t have any. We ran into Little’s second cousin twice removed which was an unexpected treat!
Our last stop was at Wendy’s for a Strawberry Frosty…oh.so.good! We got home, tired and happy. When I asked Little if they had a good day, the answer was, “Oh, gosh yes, Nana! I always have the BEST time here with you!!!” Lord, this child melts my heart.
By the way…I wore the kid out!
