Four Seasons in a Day

We had a few moments of sunshine after hard rain all night. We have standing water in our yard, but the creeks haven’t left their banks. Although the temperature overnight got up to 55°, it steadily fall all day and the rain turned to snow around 2:00 in the afternoon. The roads were fine when Mr. FixIt went to town for bowling, but coming home was a different story. He passed several cars in the ditch but couldn’t stop on the hill without going off the road himself. I texted the knitting gals last night to tell them I wasn’t making the drive over the hill this morning. I love getting together with them, but there’s no reason to risk life and limb.

I still haven’t taken down the Christmas decorations! I keep saying “I’ll get it done today” then the day gets away from me. I need to bake bread again and I’m almost finished with the first sock from a pair I’m making for a friend. I really do want to get the decorations down and put away today. I talked to my brother last night. He is getting over covid and feeling better. I watched Big in her finals at Districts. She came in 2nd in her heat in the 200y backstroke! It’s so fun to watch her swim. I remember going to her meets when she first started swimming. She was just this little bitty thing and she worked so hard. She works hard at everything she does.

Other than that, there’s not a lot new around here today. Looking forward to spring…but not necessarily mowing. I hope you all had a good weekend.
