A Gal About Town – Part Two

Container gardening
“Michelle uses livestock tanks as elevated garden containers.”

“and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭35:31-33‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Yesterday’s post didn’t have very many pictures to illustrate my descriptions of Michelle’s lovely home. Michelle was kind enough to send me several photos so I could run a “Part Two” of A Gal About Town.

Flower garden
“A faux wall hides an unsightly electric box. It is adorned with a salvaged window and shutters from the family farm in Kansas.”

She and I have decided we could give Joanna and Chip Gaines a run for their Magnolia money if we, too, had an adequate staff and unlimited resources!

Outdoor dining space.
“A repurposed farm table and vintage metal chairs creates an outdoor dining space underneath a string of market lights.”

Isn’t this backyard oasis inviting? We sat out here for hours till the sun started to set and the overhead strings of market lights turned on automatically.

Garage
“Repurposed materials adds visual interest to a garage makeover.”
Corrugated roof as ceiling tile
“Even the ceiling gets a makeover to hide extra storage.”
Antique refrigerator
“An antique refrigerator doubles as winter boot storage.”

And who wouldn’t want this gorgeous garage remodel that created a unique “maker space” for the ever creative Michelle? Architectural salvage pieces mixed with family heirlooms make for an eclectic view.

Garage
“Antiques perched atop a modern refrigerator and freezer.”
Maker space
“Stunning “maker space” in Michelle’s garage.

To top it off, we get the name of the wonderful olives we nibbled on as dinner was cooking. We drank “mocktails”…non-alcoholic concoctions made with coconut water mixed with the juice of a whole lime. Next time I’m asking for salt on the rim!

Olives
“The BEST olives!”

I hope you enjoy the added photos Michelle sent me. Several of you asked for more so I created part two of yesterday’s post. ❤️

  1. Thanks for sharing the photos. Love her style. I am from Kansas and I noticed she had salvaged some items from her family farm!

  2. Well…when I get the unlimited resources I’ll hire you and Michelle! I love the style too. I’m going to have recreate the table chairs with my yard. I already have a little wood section of fence under my Riverburch tree and it would look cute there. The window/wreath would look good on my husband’s shed in the back yard. Michelle has a beautiful area…kuddos to her and you.
