Something happens. A moment out of the ordinary. The moment when you know in your gut that what just happened had God written all over it. This is part of what I was talking about the other day when we discussed listening to your heart. When you are in tune…aligned with the energies of your Higher Power…you will notice more and more God moments. I had just such a moment yesterday and it was amazing.
I had stayed overnight with one cousin and met up with another cousin yesterday morning. We headed out for a day of craft fairs, lunch out at a little bistro, and finally dinner out with some of their friends. The first show was full of vendors from Origami Owl to Avon, Thirty-One to Tupperware. Suzy introduced me to a number of her friends since she lives in the area. The Thirty-One booth was back in the corner. If you aren’t familiar with Thirty-One, they are a faith-based company that sells canvas bags, pouches, purses and organizers. I was immediately drawn to the young lady running her booth, and her business, with a light hearted style that was so engaging. She and I clicked in an instant. Suzy told her about my recent journey across the country pulling my camper. Jen admired the fact that I did this alone and revealed her own interest in renovating trailers. I told her about Sisters on the Fly. Turns out she lives in the same county as me. Coincidence #2? I told her about losing Mr. Virgo.
Jen choked up and asked, “Do you mind me asking how old you are?”
“I’ll be 62 in June.”
She started crying and told me that she was going to a memorial service in a few hours for the only friend she had ever had that was older than her. Her friend was 62. I wrapped her in my arms and said, “Come here, baby girl. I’m going to be your friend.”
We both need friends. God put us right where we needed to be so we could meet. This happens over and over to me. Far too often to be a mere coincidence. I love these God moments. And Jen, I’m looking forward to getting to know you better and talking trailer renovation.
