“May you see your children’s children!…”
Psalms 128:6 ESV
Grandchildren. What an amazing gift they are. My heart breaks for people who long for them and don’t get to experience something so amazing. One of the best parts about being a Nana is getting the best parts of the children. Their behaviors are different around grandparents…especially when they don’t get to see them quite as often. I haven’t seen my Colorado family since last August. A lot of growing up occurred in that time.
Big is just a tich taller than I am! How did this happen? She is lovely and elegant with her long, wavy blond hair. She’s an athlete…a swimmer. Dedicated and focused with a dry wit. She’s quiet, observant, fiercely loyal, and bright. I’m looking forward to having some alone time with her. We like to go shopping. She’s a frugal shopper and is careful to get the most with what she has. My first grandchild. I’ll never forget the summer after Mr. Virgo died. I brought the camper down to my son-in-law’s parents’ house and Big climbed up on the bed and talked to me for two hours straight. Before that, I’d have been hard pressed to get two sentences out of her. She’s fourteen now, and camping is SO passé. She likes to camp at the Marriott.
Little…ah, little. She is at that delightful age when everything warrants a l-o-n-g story. Her words tumble out faster than my sixty-five year old ears can keep up with. The bottom eight inches or so of her long blond hair is now a faded turquoise blue. She wears pink lip gloss and pale blue eye shadow. She is all of eleven, but her soul is ancient. She is a maker…just like me. We were driving around yesterday and she was talking about her ADHD. She informed me very matter of factly…she can choose to look at it as a disability or a super power. She chooses super power. It gives her the advantage of having lots of energy. She admitted the downside is anxiety, however…she thinks that gives her empathy for others who go through the same thing. She is so relatable. Her insights blow me away. Our time will be spent doing art projects. Today’s picture is one she drew on my iPad using the iPencil and a program called Procreate.
I savor every moment I get with these two. Before I know it, they’ll be grown and out on their own in the world. ❤
❤️ Mine are here from VA and Aunt Beth gave them red and purple tips on their hair at a sleepover last night. Grands are the best gift I have ever been given. I get tears from “Grandma, I love you” and big hugs from the 10 month old. Enjoy every minute, sweet friend. Soak up wonderful memories.

My grand littles moved to California a year ago. I miss them so much I can hardly breath some days. They lived by us for 8 and 11 years. I have been able to see them twice since last July 3. It will be a few months before I will be able to visit again. When I do see them, I savor the moments.

I understand completely. I have had the privilege this last week to spend one on one time with each of my Brownies, all five. It has been so precious. Our oldest is 14. He is amazing. Then we have 2 girls age 9. They are five weeks apart in age. #4 is 7 year old boy who loves dinosaurs and superheroes. Then there is the baby, 4 years old. She is so sweet. Told me she would miss me when she goes home. She sees me weekly but she will still miss me. My Brownies are the best! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Grandchildren are ONE of God’s best blessings. We had the great opportunity of 2 living with us in Colorado for a while. They were our first two. It was the greatest. But time does fly. The oldest is at boot camp in San Diego, CA and the other is in Colorado still at home, but is a teenager. We miss them greatly, get to see them about 2 times a year now. Our second set of grandchildren are 18 months and 4 months, they live in San Antonio, TX. I got to spend the month of March there when the last one was born, and they will be here for a week in 4 weeks. Love those grandchildren hugs, kisses, and talks. Thank you Lord for those 4 blessings.

As someone who also has to travel to see her grandkids, I think it makes our time together even more special as we try to make 11 1/2 months of memories in ~2 weeks. FaceTime is such a blessing for the rest of the time and my 2 granddaughters are great texters now. ❤️ 1 down, 3 to go for the Summer of 2018!

You are so very blessed Ginny ❤ I am one who longs greatly for grandchildren. I know when the time is right I will have them I’m sure. So, until then I’ll just have to try and be patient.

This summer has been traveling to attend graduations. Our two oldest Grands graduated from high school. We traveled to Stutgart, Germany and spent time with two of our beautiful Grands and attended all the graduation festivities as well as touring Germany. Then off to PA to spend time with 2 other Grands and attend those graduation festivities. We will see two more Grands in another month. I love being Grandma❤️

I am incredibly blessed to have my 4 grandsons living only 30 minutes away! They make my heart sing!
