Wow…a few days in TOW-Wanda made me a happy camper! What a beautiful campground. In keeping with my safety plan, I don’t divulge where I stay till I’m gone. This trip was to Little Beaver State Park in Shady Spring, West Virginia. I think it’s in my top five all round favorite campgrounds! Most of the campsites are nestled among mature oak and pine trees. Being a senior and having a West Virginia ID gave me the delightful rate of $14 per night for a pull through site with water and electric. You can’t beat that!
There are deer meandering through every evening. At this time of year, there are very few campers and I have the place virtually to myself. It is peaceful and quiet. And there is a beautiful lake perfect for kayaking and canoeing. As I sat writing this, several owls started hooting in the trees around my campsite. What a perfect way to end the last campout of the season!
It’s definitely time to winterize my girl, though. It was 36 at 11:00 last night when I started writing this. Maybe one of these days I’ll take her south for the winter. In the meantime, I’ll hook up and head home….just as soon as I have my coffee.
My life is blessed. I have everything I possibly could want. I have love, safety, security, health, a place to call home…a loving God who provides everything for me. Yes…my life is blessed indeed. I look back at where I am vs. where I could be. We all deal with grief in our own ways. I make a choice…every single day…to live a happy life. Live a good life. I don’t have time to stay stuck in one spot for long. So I get up, straighten my crown and remember whose daughter I am!
