Well, one of my happy places! This time we’re camping. I can’t tell you how excited this makes me. Even Mr. FixIt was excited. We are both so disappointed that we haven’t been able to camp very much this summer so getting this little camper has lifted our spirits greatly. My first night sleeping out in the field was delightful. I laid there listening to a beautiful Barred Owl in the sycamores along the hedgerow and my heart nearly burst with joy!
The camper is wonderful. It’s the exact same length of the a-frame, but having a large bathroom at the end of the camper…and adding a slide out…creates so much more floor space. The only thing that’s kinda strange about this camper is the dinette is raised about a foot off the floor so you have to step up into it. I would much rather have a chair and a half recliner in there than the dinette. And, who knows…we might get a wild hair some day and make a modification. For now, we are happy as two little bugs in a rug!
We drove up to the service department where the Big Birdhouse is getting some TLC. We wanted to get our camping gear out, so we stopped on our way to Walmart for gas and groceries. Afterward, we went to our favorite restaurant for ribs! Oh, yummmmmm! They were the BEST and we were really hungry from running around all day.
We got back to the camper before dark and put some things away then made the executive decision to do nothing but enjoy our surroundings tomorrow. The air has a distinct nip of fall and the sides of the roads are carpeted with fallen leaves. I’m so glad I threw some warm clothes in at the last minute. We were both nodding off at 9:00 last night. Good sleeping weather!
