Looking Ahead

While I’m all about mindfulness and staying in the moment, I do need something to look forward to. The promise of camping in the spring helps get me through the winter. I give things to God to carry, and He directs me toward something to get me through trying times…step by step.

We are heading into uncertain times here, so I was searching for something reassuring. I know God laughs at us making our little plans. Last night, I sat at my computer and created a monthly banner for my blog to get me through the next four years. I don’t know why, but that small activity centered me and gave me a focus. Sometimes it’s just the little things we can do help us stay focused.

There’s one thing I am absolutely certain of…Jesus is always with me through every storm, up every mountain, and down to the deepest, darkest valleys. And He can be with you, too. He’s so kind and well-mannered. He isn’t intrusive. He waits till He’s invited. I honestly don’t know how people can get through the trials and tribulations of life without Him. Sometimes God leads us into rough waters…not to drown us, but to cleanse us.

I was just telling Mr. FixIt yesterday that I need to get back out to The Farm for my annual tax marathon. It’s time. The weather will improve next week with some warm days. That will be perfect porch-sitting weather. I need that!

***Gratitude Journal***   Today I am grateful that God directs me to the ways that bring me peace and that I am open to listen to His guidance.
