After church this morning, I drove to Aspen to wander the streets and treat myself to lunch at the Hotel Jerome. I asked my waitress if she remembered Mr. Virgo and she told me a funny story about being scheduled for July 4th as the only bartender and she wanted to crown him. She told me to tell him hello, so I had to tell her he had passed. It makes me sad to tell people who cared about him because they are always upset with the loss and that they may have upset me.
The photo is taken in front of a working bar made of ice located on the pedestrian mall. I visited all the shops that Mr. Virgo and I loved. I stopped in Meridian Jewelers and the same gal who showed us engagement rings was still working there. We had a lovely visit. There was a lull in business so she sat with me for quite some time. I went in Kemo Sabe where we bought my Stetson and chatted with the most lovely young people. I ended the evening with a cup of coffee and a sugar cookie from Paradise Bakery. Such a fun day!
I’m getting things together before I leave Christmas Day on my trip. My brother comes over Christmas Eve to spend the night. I’ll get to visit with my kids and grandkids then I head to California on Friday. My friend called me the other day and told me we are going to get to participate in a cattle roundup on a ranch that belongs to a friend of hers. That is going to be a hoot! I’ll have to take lots of pictures to show you.
Hope you have a wonderful day and are enjoying your holiday preparations. Hugs to you all!
