Poor Mr. FixIt…he has a lot to handle with me for a wife. I always get a wild hair, and sometimes at inopportune moments. I’ve been wanting to change the queen bed in the camper to twins. When we travel, we’re tired enough. Add to it a restless night and soon, neither one of us are having a good time. I’ve seen plenty of camper makeovers. I already took out the dinette and put in the double reclining loveseat. That made a huge difference on our trip to the beach last year. So, I thought…why not? I can do this. After all, I renovated my mom’s house all by myself.
My sweetheart was gone for the day yesterday and I honestly thought I could have it finished before he got home. I think I could have if it wasn’t for the little side table pieces. They were a booger to get out…especially the one on the left over the water tank. I worked slow and steady till 3:30 then I had to call it quits. The second Shingrix vaccine is really kicking my behind. I get worn out in the afternoon…especially after working in the camper all day.
I’m really excited about these beds. I have it exactly in my head what I want. And Mr. FixIt…being an engineer…will help me make sure I get all the measurements and design points correct. I want storage space under each bed so it needs to be the right dimensions to accommodate them. I already have all the bedding from the a-frame camper we had with twin beds in it. I did some preliminary measurements and I can cut the memory foam mattress right down the middle and sew some fabric on the cut side and voila! Twin beds! I’m so excited and, a little nervous…I don’t really want Mr. FixIt to see it till it’s done. You know how a project ALWAYS looks WAY worse before it gets finished, right? Well, this falls in that category, for sure!
Once I gave up for the day in the camper, I came inside and started going through the totes. I’m being very picky about what we take this time. We never use everything and it’s just extra weight and costs more gas to tow it. I know I’m going to pay for this tomorrow…I’m already sore!
It’s gotten chilly here. Hope you have an enjoyable weekend!

”“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’“
Luke 14:28-30 NIV
