Old Friends and Old Stories

I was so excited to see my friend and her husband yesterday. We had such a great time laughing and sharing photos and old stories. Mr. FixIt has never met them so we all had a big time visiting. It was really windy yesterday but beautiful. We came back to town and went to visit Mr. FixIt, Jr. and family. It’s always good to spend time with the kids. We were home before dark and I was ready to call it a day. I don’t know about you, but anymore…when I have the alarm set for an early morning wake up, I hardly sleep the night before. My subconscious is afraid I’ll sleep through it so I’m awake every half hour or so. Consequently, I was ready to write at 8:00 last night and bed shortly after.

I took my friend one of the baskets I crocheted and tucked a couple of the homemade pop tarts I made Sunday evening. I wanted them to have something special and who doesn’t love a nosh when you’re staying in a cabin? We stopped at Menard’s on our way home. We needed a new solar light for the address post at the end of the driveway. We always find something there we didn’t know we needed till we saw it! lol

I want to give you an update. Hubby #2 has finally been discharged after his kidney transplant and is home! I know several of you are on dialysis and/or waiting for a transplant and you may be wondering how he got through the system so quickly. I didn’t know this at first, but apparently, when you’ve already had a transplant and need another, you get bumped up the ladder. I think that’s done in order to protect and preserve the transplanted organ. He feels great and is so grateful. He told me he absolutely couldn’t have gone through this without God carrying him and all the prayers that went up for him. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for those prayers. I’m so happy we have this space to offer each other prayers and support when it’s needed.

The whole world may seem to be burning to the ground, but there is so much beauty at the same time and opportunities to express gratitude. Here are some pictures of the grounds of Marshmallow Ranch at sunset last night for your enjoyment!

See you tomorrow!

💚

“Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.”   ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

***Gratitude Journal***   Today I am grateful that our prayers were answered and my daughters’ dad got to come home from the hospital after his kidney transplant. Hallelujah!
