Patience is a Virtue

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been impatient. I couldn’t wait for Christmas and I had to look for presents. I couldn’t wait for the Easter Bunny, or my birthday, or anything else that might have a happy ending. So, after Mr. FixIt and I voted yesterday, I asked if he would care if I went camping a day early. He is so accommodating and of course he didn’t mind. So I had the camper hooked up and ready to go in an hour or two! I was so excited to see Gail and we chatted for a half hour or so then we both turned into pumpkins and had to say goodnight. I’ll get to camp here till Saturday so there’s plenty of time to visit.

I soaked those vintage tablecloths in the Retro Clean solution for twenty-four hours then ran them through another wash and it’s amazing how well it worked. Almost all the stains came out and they’re so much brighter looking. I dried them, folded them carefully, and brought them with me to make some curtains while I’m here.

There is a symphony here in the woods. The frogs are calling like crazy. I saw a huge pileated woodpecker on my way up here. It was working on a rotted tree stump and looked all the world like Woody Woodpecker. I love my drive here as I follow the Ohio River the whole way. River boats and pleasure boat, fishermen floating along the banks hoping to get a mess for a fish fry. It’s the perfect time of the year to camp. Comfortably warm days with comfortably cool nights. Even though rain is in the forecast, it’s still a great place to be.

The site I had reserved for Wednesday to Saturday was taken last night so I had to rent the one next to it. My site will open up today and I’ll just pull down one space and then I can set up the camper and unhook.

I received news on my way up here that my brother had to make another trip to the ER yesterday with a rapid heart rate. All his tests were negative so they sent him home, but he needs to drink more fluids. Please keep him in your prayers that he will drink more water so he won’t keep getting these wonky heart rhythms. Gail suggested they get him one of those machines that make sparkling water with flavors in it. I think that would really help him so I’ll check on that today. Bless his heart…he’s just aging so quickly and it hurts.
