Mr. FixIt and I both have a stack of things to do so we’re hunkered down in our respective houses working away. There’s taxes and banking, a new computer to set up, bills to pay, and writing deadlines. Every day I get a greater sense of urgency to copy my Facebook posts over to my website and it stuns me how much content is there. I know there is an end, but it’s nowhere in sight at the moment. I have been copying each post to the website for the last sixteen months. The backlog is entered up to September 2014, with a few blank spots I have to fill in.
If you have to be stuck inside doing paperwork, at least the weather isn’t sunny and warm outside. It rained off and on all day yesterday and as I typed this post last night, a gentle rain pattered on the tin roof of the farm house. I cannot hear that sound without smiling. I know every sound, every creak, every settling whisper of this old house. When I am here, I am wrapped in the arms of family memories as comforting as one of grandma’s quilts. The weather forecast shows a prolonged rain pattern which is typical for this time of year in West Virginia. It’s mud season. So there will be a few more nights of rain song here at “Marshmallow Ranch.”
The daffodils are almost open here on the farm. This little holler stays a good bit cooler than some of the surrounding area because we don’t get a lot of sun. Our flowers are always just a little bit behind. When I was copying posts over yesterday, there were several pictures of the farm in all its verdant splendor. I want time to slow down from now to October. I want to pay very close attention to the buds and flowers and leaves and not miss a thing. I want to stay present and mindful. We are heading into my very favorite time of the year and I am going to enjoy every second of it! ❤️
“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone.”
Zechariah 10:1 NIV
Listening to much needed rain on our tin roof in Texas,☔️God is answering our prayers. ??I love the spring, mountain laurel and redwoods are blooming , along with our beautiful bluebonnets?
I hear you must be careful of snakes in the bluebonnets. I’ve never spent much time in Texas. Enjoy your Spring!!! ❤️
Hi Ginny
My name is Shannon. I came across the First Day in Heaven painting. I so want to purchase this. I know you said you would message another person when becomes available in the US …could you do the same for.me too? I have recently lost my mom, dad, sister and brother all within a year and a half. This portrait brings me great comfort.
Oh, Shannon…I am so sorry for your losses. I cannot image how difficulty that has been for you. Of course I will let you know when the prints are available.
