Resting as an Olympic Sport

I think I like this resting thing. I have my laptop updated, my hard drive cleaned and defragged, and my bank account up to date and balanced. I watched several episodes of Dateline and Weekend Mystery and American Idol. Ok, the TV is a little much. I have watched more in the last two weeks than I have in the last two years because Mr. FixIt and I were staying in hotel rooms. I couldn’t get away from the TV very easily. It’s not a habit, though…that’s for sure.

I did watch one episode of Dateline that was intriguing. It was about a Jane Doe that had been murdered in Texas and some amateur genealogists worked together to eventually find out who she was. Now THAT kind of work I would find addicting. These people spent hundreds of hours scouring for information on the internet and thousands of phone calls and texts. They volunteered, along with hundreds of other amateur genealogists, with an organization called The DNA Doe Project. You can find more information HERE. I found it fascinating.

Yesterday started out cold but by late afternoon it was 62 degrees. Mr. FixIt says if we listen hard enough, we can hear the grass growing! I had to get outside to sit in the sunshine for a while. It’s supposed to be nice again today, so we are going for a little drive to check out the barn raising at a family member’s farm. I still need to get those irises divided! Time’s a wastin’!

What was that I was saying about liking this “rest” thing?

?

“Let’s do our best to know the Lord. His coming is as certain as the morning sun; he will refresh us like rain renewing the earth in the springtime.”

Hosea 6:3 CEV

  1. I’m happy to see you are resting. Very important for recovery. It is still cold here and I really have Spring fever. Got a skiff of snow last night and more predicted for tonight. Hurry warm weather!
