When I was on my three month journey into the wilderness and backroads of Colorado after Mr. Virgo died, one of the places I visited was Mesa Verde. This is such a mystical, ancient place. Whenever I am here, I can feel this amazing energy and peacefulness. I truly love showing Mr. FixIt places that I have been. I love watching the awe on his face. The long views in the west are unlike anything we have back east. He keeps saying how glad he is that he has his own personal tour guide!
We sat in the parking lot and ate fresh fruit for lunch. OMGosh! The black plums are exquisite! And the red grapes were perfection!
I was thrilled to find a very reasonably priced motel last night. $89 plus taxes and fees. It’s one of the cheapest we have found. And, I could hardly wait to go to Seriously Texas BBQ for dinner. I make great ribs. These are better! Durango is a pretty little college town. We parked and watched the Durango Silverton Train come back into the station. It was a really great day!
Today we head to Ridgway and we’re staying a couple of days with friends. It’s going to be a relaxing couple of days leading up to the wedding festivities!!!

Thanks for bring back memories. I love those places. We would camp in Ouray and Mesa Verde.

I rode the Durango Silverton train many years ago, on a vacation with my family. Such wonderful memories! Glad you and Mr. Fixit are having fun making memories of your own.

So cool! My husband and I were just at Mesa Verde and Durango a few weeks ago. Truly an amazing place. We can hardly wait to return and visit longer. And take the train ride in Durango. Have you taken Mr. FixIt to the Garden of the Gods yet? Hope you get too do that. So beautiful.
No, we aren’t going to make Garden of the Gods this trip. I told him we have to leave some things to see next time! ?❤️
