I once asked a framer when you can consider yourself an artist. She said, “When others recognize you as one.” I asked my artist friend, Marion (whose work I greatly admire) the same question and she said, “When you order business cards with “Artist” under your name. The same goes for writer, speaker, gypsy. I am all of the above.
Mr. Virgo turned 60 in 2010. I wanted to give him something special to commemorate such an auspicious occasion. We were living in Denver at the time and my husband missed living in the mountains. Not far from our mountain house sits Mt. Sopris…a 14,000+ foot icon towering over the town of Carbondale. He saw this mountain every day on his commute to Aspen to work and loved the way the light changed it through the seasons. He was absolutely thrilled with his gift and immediately hung it over his highboy where he could see it when he came home at night.
I’ve been playing with an app that turns pictures into paintings. I wondered what it would do to an actual painting so I created these images yesterday. I love the different styles and it reflects how the light changes over the mountain. I thought I’d share them with you today.
I’m glad I have this painting. I’m not 100% certain, but I’m thinking I might be able to stay at the farm. I’ll know more in a couple of weeks. I will find a place to hang this painting so I can see it every day, too. It is a warm memory. I have lots of warm memories of the love God has brought into my life. It’s time to celebrate that.
God continually blesses me!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.””
