I love to fly! Love, love, love it! It sure isn’t what it used to be though. As with everything else it seems, prices go up and service comes down. Gone are the days of spacious seating and tasty meals. With the price of gas down, you might hope for lower ticket prices but that’s not going to happen. I drove six hours each way to save $300 on my flight. And…I bought meals, gas, and lodging that far exceeded my savings. However, I do get to spend the night at both ends of my trip with my good friends, Cindy and Randy. Cindy lived in the flat below me when I lived in England. It is such a treat to spend time with them.
Mr. Virgo didn’t care too much for air travel. He spent far too many years as a road warrior traveling five days a week, living out of a suitcase. It held no allure for him like it does for me. We flew together only once. In 2011, we decided to leave Denver and move back home to our house in the mountains. We quit our jobs the first of June, moved, and worked on the house and yard for about a month. Then we flew to West Virginia. Mr. Virgo had never met my family or seen where I grew up. We had a wonderful time visiting and exploring the state. I wish we could have had a longer time together. He wanted to show me many of the wonderful places he had traveled and lived. He was such a fun travel companion.
The weather prediction, at least as far out as I can see at this point, looks wonderful. Highs in the 50’s with clear skies. It doesn’t get much better than that for December!
