Pumpkin Kitty is almost three-and-a-half years old already. She is our resident Grounds Keeper and keeps the area fairly well free from mice and snakes. She also catches the occasional vole but those little suckers are mean so she usually ends up batting them around till they manage to get away. So far, she has never left us a gift on the doorstep. She probably thinks since she is the Queen, she needn’t leave presents for the hired help.
Since her brush with death during the coldest part of winter, she has steered away from the pool. She still goes up on the deck, but I haven’t caught her leaning over the edge for a drink since her inadvertent baptism in the pool. She’s starting to mellow out a little, too. She doesn’t attack us nearly as often as she used to. But she’s still really fickle and you cannot trust that you’ll get away with your hand intact after scratching her head.
Mr. FixIt is the Cat Whisperer. She’ll let him pick her up and carry her to the building to give her treaties. I’m not as apt to do that. I’m not a fan of bleeding. So, when I walk by her to the building, she starts meowing like she does with her Prince. Then, if I walk on by, she amps up the volume as if to say, “Hey! Down here! How am I supposed to get to the building for what is rightfully mine???” It actually makes me giggle.
We didn’t get the a-frame camper cleaned this weekend. It was kinda cool and windy so we did mostly indoor stuff. Some pictures of Big TOW-Wanda showed up in my memories yesterday and it got me to thinking about our new camper and ways I can dress it up to make it warm and cozy.
The valance for the big window over the dinette fell off last summer and rather than put it back up, I’ve decided to make some curtains instead. If I make curtains for one window, I need to make them for the other two. And, there is a large room divider curtain, so I might as well do that one, too.
I really loved the backsplash in Big TOW-Wanda. I’d love to have that look in the new camper, but the wall over the sink has a lot of control panels, switches, and outlets on it. It may not work out the way I envision. I’m sure I can do something to make it homey. It’s not like I don’t have anything else to do so it may just end up being a dream.
We have errands to run in town today. I am hoping it will be warm enough to go for a walk in the park with my sweetie. We both want to start getting these winter pudgies off. It’ll be no time and we’ll need to get out and start doing the heavy work. We should really ease our way into it.
I’m almost ready to get back to the quilt! The knitting has been put aside since before Christmas so I could work on this project. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. Now before you get all excited…it’s not my book. But I’m laying the groundwork for that in the not so distant future.
