Lands…I’d say this has been a crazy couple of weeks, but it’s been like this since the end of February! I came home Wednesday while the Open House was going on over at the farm. I can’t even tell you what I did when I got home. But yesterday, I started in on the taxes first thing while Mr. FixIt worked on the flooring in the entryway by both doors of the family room. The carpet comes today and we’re ready. Between fussing with the computer and trying to help my sweetheart, I’d just about had it by evening. So, I insisted we take a break and go get ice cream.
We took our treats over to the park by the river, but it seems everyone in four counties had the same idea so we couldn’t sit in our usual spot with the view of the water. I calmed down, ate my chocolate/vanilla twist, and we headed home.
Have any of you used Turbo Tax? I’ve always used it and have never had a problem. Till this year. When I started doing this year’s taxes, some of the lines from last year didn’t populate. I went into the 2019 returns and there’s only about half of the data entered! I am certain I had the returns printed so I would have a hard copy, but I can’t seem to put my finger on them. All the extra space is filled with stuff from the carpeting project. I can’t seem to find the PDF file with our returns from 2020 and I’m about to pull my hair out.
I know…I’m the absolute WORST procrastinator. And they even gave us an extra month! I’m sure if I sleep on it, it’ll look better in the morning. Hopefully.
Adding all this extra clutter isn’t helping, either. I remember back to the time of a clutter free existence. It was so freeing and liberating and soothing. Now there’s crap…I mean, precious family treasures…EV-RY-WHERE! I don’t drink, so a glass of wine is out. It’s too cold to go sit outside and count the stars. So, I will do what I should have done in the first place. Invite Jesus to come right over here and carry this load for a while and let me rest. Tomorrow is another day!
I’ll tell you what, though. I’m NOT doing the taxes ever again! I’m letting the pros do it from now on. I don’t need this meshugaas!
